On behalf of the Gban Development Association, I wish to acknowledge the receipt of the report submitted by the committee set up to assess the Dahn Gbowin Public School, under the leadership of Eng. Johnny Bundah. We extend our sincere appreciation to the committee for the time, effort, and commitment invested in this important exercise.

The report contains several vital recommendations that highlight the urgent needs of the school. The key areas outlined include:

 1. Rehabilitation of the Dahn Gbowin Public School Building, repainting, minor roofing repairs, and construction of entrance stairs.

 2. Reconstruction or major repair of the Larry P. Younquoi Building, strengthening the foundation, roofing, repainting, and provision of classroom furniture.

3. Upgrading of the Latrine Building, re-roofing, repainting, and installing proper doors to ensure privacy and hygiene.

4. Rehabilitation and expansion of the kitchen to meet safe food preparation needs.

  5. Repair or replacement of hand pumps to restore access to safe drinking water.

  6. Reconstruction of the Morning Devotion Stage to provide a safe assembly area.

7. Addressing land encroachment, engaging local authorities to officially demarcate and protect the school property.

  8. Improvement of environmental sanitation – regular cleaning, grass cutting, waste disposal, and creation of a maintenance plan.

  9. Installation of fencing or boundary markers to prevent further encroachment and enhance school security.

As an association, we now have a clear picture of the school’s conditions and the necessary interventions required to create a safe and conducive learning environment for our children.

The next step will be for us, as members, to discuss and prioritize these recommendations, while also exploring possible sources of funding, partnerships, and community contributions to make them a reality.

Let us remain united and committed in addressing these issues for the benefit of our children and the future of our community.  With appreciation,

Amb Joe Dawoyea  Administrator Gban Development Association
